Mark Twain's Advice (to New Englanders)

"If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes." . . . Mark Twain.  Well, Marash Girl is waiting (perhaps a few weeks) for a pleasant day when she can set up her yard sale without the surprise of a sudden downpour.  One more weekend to go . . . ?  Hopefully. . . .

  1. When I was a young girl this comment was attributed to the laconic New Hampshire and Maine farmers. Ayuh. I wonder whether its origin was Twain or New England. There's a town in New Hampshire that I associated with the laconic speech thus I always thought Laconia was the origin. When I was a young girl I would hear and read words that had no meaning except for what they gathered inside my mind. It was always a surprise when I learned they didn't mean what I thought they did.
