Walking along the Charles River on a Sunny Afternoon.
Two for the price of one -- Bridge over the Charles River late on a summer's afternoon - Photo credit: Marash Girl; photo suggested by Marash Boy as we passed the bridge: "Look -- there's a picture for you!"

When I was very little I wondered how charli pambookian got a river named after him. Sounds funny, doesn't it? Except that he was more deserving, having hit the beaches at Iwo Jima with the second marine division, than charles the English king. Our marine cousin was a marine to the end, caring for his invalid mother, refusing to put her in a 'home', until her last day. His filial heroics were done alone, except for the presence of god in his and his mother's life. God rewarde him with a painless death, though the autopsy showed that his whole body was eaten through with cancer, the doctors could not imagine that level of cancer absent unspeakable pain. Our dad knew and understood, because Charlie, our royal charles was a marine to the end.
A fitting tribute to an unsung hero . . . our Charlie Pambookian, son of a survivor of the Armenian genocide! See blog post on 2/23/15 for more on Charlie Pambookian.
