DOES THE TOOTH FAIRY PRACTICE AGE DISCRIMINATION?

I lost a tooth today, a tooth that cannot be replaced or repaired; the problem is that the tooth is more than 40 years old, and even the dentist didn't want it.  Maybe the tooth fairy will!   I'm going to place it under my pillow tonight in hopes that the tooth fairy can recycle it and leave me a surprise the way she used to.  Here's hoping!

  1. when we were young and lost a tooth, our parents, who refused to acknowledge santa claus, were helpless before the fantasy of the tooth fairy. though they never gave lip service to tinkerbell, they acted upon the presumption of every american child, and voila, a dollar would be found the next morning, a fitting reward for not being squeamish in the loss of a tooth. the dollar made the loss, because it was embedded with a promise, though painful, pleasurable. that would be the equivalent of $50 in inflation adjusted dollars. can you imagine any parent today putting $50 underneath the pillow of a 5 year old? we had generous parents who delighted in delighting their children.

  2. @peterson But how about under the pillow of an adult? Anyway, what do you mean, Parents? Hey, didn't you know it was the tooth fairy?

  3. A fitting gift for a 40 year old tooth from the "Tooth Fairy" would be a solid GOLD dollar minted 40 years ago!
