Soon after midnight a year ago, after casually commenting, "I'm going to heaven today," my father went into the living room and, for the next three hours, sang hymns. "I'm tired now," he announced, went to bed and closed his eyes. Peter joined the heavenly choir early that morning, one year ago, and in so doing, taught us the joy of going to be with the Lord.
Today we remember our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great friend, philosopher and raconteur,
Peter (Bedros) Bilezikian

We love you Grandpa, and we miss you!
ReplyDeleteI miss you too, Uncle Peter.
ReplyDeleteI wish I met this wonderful person.

What a solid foundation he built for us, that we stand tall upon today.
ReplyDeleteI was very fortunate to have met him. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteWho is the young woman standing beside Peter and his mother? She reminds me so much of Marash Girl!
ReplyDeleteI remember Uncle Peter so fondly. He was such a wise man. He always had a way to "fix" anything -- whether it was physical or emotional!! I will always remember our trips to Mass -- and the fun I had as a young child visiting all the relatives!! Uncle Peter will always be one of the most memorable people for me -- we had our own inside jokes and he still remembered them many, many years later. Arpy
ReplyDelete@Anonymous ARPY - Do you remember when you were four years old, the joke your Uncle Peter and you shared? He remembered it to his dying day. "Vich voch?" Do you remember?
ReplyDelete@SS Answering SS (Southern Belle?) - That's Marash Girl's Aunt Rosie (Vartouhi), Peter's sister. She married an Armenian man from Binghamton, NY, they lived in Newton and had two lovely daughters.
