Too much of a good thing goes for cooking as well as for anything else. Recently Niña reported spoiling her 3 hour long effort preparing Cajun Shrimp by over spicing it! And Marash Girl spoiled her chicken soup by over lemoning it .(The lemons were shriveled and thus more acidic, more concentrated.) A little goes a long way with spices, sweeteners, and sourers (is there such a word?)! As with cooking, so with life. Taste test as you go! It's fun, and it works!
the exception to the above exhortation is the grace of God. can one really get too much of that? also, the commandment to love the Lord thy God with ALL your heart, mind, soul, and body. a little is not enough, although it might go a long way, more is better, but, ALL, is a must, because Father has ordered life that way, and Father, our Father, who is in Heaven, does know best.
ReplyDeleteAs Shakespeare sayeth, "Get thee to a nunnery!" or in this case, "Get thee to a monastery!"
DeleteApparently, you do not read the Scriptures, and thus you can make such statements. Too bad, really, considering what your ancestors endured, particularly those who 'walked according to the Spirit, and forsook the lust of the flesh'.
DeleteWHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH LEMON JUICE?
DeleteWell, Anonymous, it has to do with the philosophy iterated of doing all things in life in moderation, which, by the way, is a logical fallacy. if you do all things in moderation, then moderation has just been sacrificed, which raises another point. God created us with the capacity to be compulsively obsessive. However, that quality was given us so that we could obey the commandment to love him with ALL our heart, mind and soul. that obsessive, compulsiveness was to be directed to satisfy the first and great commandment, not anything else.
DeleteGod does not want bland food moderately seasoned? What the hell does he want? Maybe we shouldn't be existing / eating / communicating / being individuals (from moderate types to obsessive- compulsive ranting and raging types. I thought God loves everyone.
